From August 21-25 2017, in commemoration of the 150th birthday of Canadian Federation and the 140th anniversary of Treaty 6, the John Humphrey Centre for Peace and Human Rights is planning Ignite Change 2017: A Global Gathering for Human Rights at MacEwan University.
Ignite Change will bring together concerned global citizens to reflect on critical issues facing Canada while working to renew our treaty relations. Hate, drugs, human trafficking and arms are impacting our communities and the globe. The gathering will reflect on the global and local realities of these four issues, discuss root causes, identify solutions and strengthen our collective capacity to move forward as Canadians; reconciling a difficult past.
Ignite Change 2017 which will be happening from August 21-25 will be having guest speakers and workshop presenters who will be from out of Edmonton.
JHC is currently looking for some wonderful hosts who can provide billeting for our guests during the duration of the conference.
Please email firstname.lastname@example.org, if you are willing to accommodate our guests or fill out our form.
