Lucia Iorio Well Derek. ... that is what us working people call "Double Dipping".... can't believe I have to point that out to you.... oh..right you are a conservative.... Marie Antoinette famously said "let them eat cake" should be a tag line for the party....

Kevin Dunbar So quick to point this out as a "conservative" thing. You need to grow up. Has nothing to do with the party, or the conservative movement, and EVERYTHING to do with the man himself.

Kelly Wolfert Kevin Dunbar, the entitlement that follows the conservative right is now part of the UPC. The merger didn't make that go away. That entitlement is something the party has to address to voters. It's a real thing. So real there are election results to prove it.
But yes ... it also speak very poorly for Fild. His defense of it shows how that above comment becomes valid. Albertans have seen it before.

Julie Ali Kevin Dunbar Somehow we have seen a lot of Conservatives using the system to make out like bandits legally. Eg. Redford's Sky Palace when they were all trying to shut down the Michener Centre. Then the Duffy expenditures with various other senators showing us their elite and entitled use of the expense accounts. Finally we have the long history of the CEOs of the health authorities being paid major severance by the Conservative party in Alberta because.. .well I guess they all deserve money for being laid off. It's sad but the fiscally conservative folks are as wasteful as the NDP folks.

Julie Ali eg of NDP waste--how about the $235 million "loan" to big oil for the orphan well program that is not our liability? What of the $30 million by the federal government for economic stimulation that was wasted to ensure this "loan" was tax free? All political parties waste money. Lucky for us we have now an example of the UCP folks doing the same junk.

Lucia Iorio Well Julie. ... a quick Google search on my part shows the Orphan Well Program was started in 2001 and I do believe the Conservative party was in power at the time, apparently there was no mechanism put in place to enforce stringent fines/penalties ...very unfortunate...what to do now with all the wells industry is walking away from....

Harvey Bishop Julie Ali The fact is, the Alberta PCs, in the last 30 years, did the most costliest scandals in Canadian history. Try looking at things like the $600 million NovaTel scandal, the now $5 billion Swan Hills waste treatment plant blunder, the almost $500 million blown away bailing out West Edmonton Mall, the $400 million BSE bailout failure, the $34.5 billion electricity deregulation disaster, the $7 billion PPA debacle, the $2 billion wasted on carbon capture and storage, the $26 billion Northwest Upgrader fiasco, Alison Redford's $10 billion tobaccogate lawsuit scheme, (which she got away with, yet did), etc. That's far worse. There is more besides. The $67 million Gainers scandal, the Principle Trust scandal, the $110 million wasted on a metal smelting plant screwup, the Alpac/Mitsubishi scandal, which Ralph Klein ripped off the Heritage Savings Trust Fund to pay for, the $180 million Miller West Pulp Mill debacle, the $125 million ambulance amalgamation screw up, the $100 million A.I.S.H scandal, (which included Ralph Klein and his colleagues laughing at and mocking the handicapped on T.V), the Stockwell Day defamation lawsuit costs, the expensive penthouse suites, the expensive severence packages for A.H.S executives who did very little work, expensive plane flights with no extra passengers, the expensive lawsuit costs, relating to the deaths of foster children in Alberta, etc. Way worse. We are still paying for many of these scandals.

Julie Ali Lucia Iorio The PCs gave the orphan well program $30 million. The NDP are giving $30 million to make this interest free "loan". Do you think we will get the $235 million paid back? And why are we paying for the liabilities of big oil? What we should be doing now that oil companies are walking away is kicking butt. We hired the NDP to do this and instead they are handing over public dollars to pay for the messes left by the industry.

Julie Ali Harvey Bishop So what? The PCs messed up. We fired them remember? Now the NDP folks need to clean up the messes of the PCs. Or are they just coasting? We have already seen the billion dollars given to the power plants for early phase out of coal, the useless climate leadership plan and no sort of change in the continuing care system. We don't need the history of the PCs' failures to excuse the failures of the NDP folks.

Julie Ali Harvey Bishop As for the children in the foster care system who are dying--we're still waiting for the #PanelPolitics spin to be revealed to us in an exact mimicry of the #RoundTableOfSpin of the good old Tory days. In Alberta the parties never perform. They just spin.

Julie Ali Nicole Wetsch I don't think it i impossible to fix these problems In the continuing care system for example we have asked for resident rights. Citizens don't even have the right to visitation enshrined. Families can be banned from seeing their loved ones if a continuing care facility so decides. The recent case of the Tucker family in Grande Prairie where the mum was banned from seeing the dad illustrates the human rights abuses that were begun in the Tory times and continues to this day. The NDP folks knew about this junk because they were all for families before they got elected. Now they are in they aren't doing a darn thing for families. The Trespass to Premises legislation used against families is not a proper use of the law. I believe it is counter to the Rights and Freedoms of citizens. Failure to stick up for the victims indicates to me that the NDP just don't want to do it because these are throwaway folks in our society. Here is the most recent case of banning in AB: https://www.facebook.com/stephen.tucker.334 Stephen Tucker added 4 new photos — with Tammilee Rideout-Tucker.

PLEASE SHARE!!!! It breaks by heart to have my mom in a emergency room bed were at least dad can now visit her . A care home in grande prairie has abused my mom for the last time . We are now taking up space in an emergency room while awaiting for a doctor to help us find a spot . The care home today slammed the door in my face as I tried to talk to them. As I had to remove mom s belongings out of there so the abuse can't continue. Dad fought with them for years with documentation and pics plenty of proof to put them under . But everyone turns a blind eye to the abuse and call it un founded . The judge without any looking at foundings or proof just say your banned and any further cost comes to dad? How does a retirement man pay for lawyer fees. I want this banning my dad from the care home for a full year without visiting rights to go viral . He has legal guardianship to be her voice from a court but means nothing . How does the justice system work ? She cannot speak for herself . Please share the shit outta this . Media here I come
