Hike #13-- West Wind Pass

We got to the hiking place at about 2 pm and were done the hike at about 5 pm. I did not go to the top of the hike as it was creepy in the last 20 minutes. I went the wrong way up the peak and we had to go down to find the right path. Then the right path was very cliff hanging and so I chickened out.
Younger boy and I went down. I fell on the way down and landed on my back and arm. The sand is very fine and there are shiny stones that are slippery. I got up and kept trucking. The hike was done on a gorgeous day.
When we were done we went to the lake and meandered there. If you are in the area of West Wind Pass there are a few lakes nearby that are gorgeous. We will be coming back again. Hike #13 was completed by hubby but not by younger boy and myself.
The trail itself isn't hard but very thin in parts. At the top the peak is very creepy. The Spray Lakes Reservoir and side lake are so very clear that I could imagine taking family there to paddle or swim.
There is also a campground near by that was full.
The route there is confusing and there are no markers for this hike. We only found it by looking out for parked cars. Then the trail itself isn't clear. You just have to do your best.
Dusty going and back. The path is very narrow and they have closed the other hiking place near Canmore that is before this area-- because of bears.
