Friends of Medicare shared their event. Sponsored · This week Canada's Premiers are meeting in Edmonton. We need fair federal funding under a negotiated national health accord to meet the health care needs of all Canadians. We hope you join us this Wednesday for a rally for public health care!

Instead of asking overburdened families for more money -why not do the cuts to the ABCs? Agencies, boards and commissions account for a major repeating cost to us. We don't need to be paying the exorbitant salaries in the public sector or in the health authorities and their contracted employees such as at Covenant Health. Why should we pay more and more for the elite? We don't even know how much of our public dollars go to servicing our families in the continuing care system and how much go to the upper managers, the shareholders and everyone else. Why can't we find out? I guess this information might stir up the taxpayers.
What's required is not for more dollars from us to pay for a dysfunctional health care system where the mental health system is in a deplorable state but instead to see the money trail and the deliverables. If we can't see the money trail why should we give more money for this hole in our pockets?

Gregory Kiejko Health care is already eating up more and more of a percentage of our GDP every year. Soon we will hit the wall. We need a better model like Europe where we can also buy private insurance.

Julie Ali More than money we need intelligent use of money as well as the decreased worm burden of staff pay that is -in my opinion--very excessive. As families we do not have an endless source of cash. We're taxed enough. Time for the elite in the positions in government, the health authority and in the health care/ continuing care system to take the hits we're taking. In what alternative universe do the CEOs and executive staff -the ministers and cohort of associate/ deputy ministers live in? We're fed up of the poor performance for our major tax dollars. Get intelligent, cut the entitlement attitudes and reduce compensation. We haven't even considered the major liabilities of the pension plans we are liable for.
