Julie Ali The result of this move will be to increase electricity costs for all citizens in Alberta. The provincial government also wasted billions of dollars to pay off the coal fired power plants. Way to go NDP folks in government! You've increased the debt, lost us a cheap form of electricity generation when this was already being phased out just to get what? I guess get a greener image for big oil that is buffered from the other move of the Carbon tax. John Gary White Emissions from coal are regulated and filtered. The only real emissions they are concerned with is CO2... which is essential to all life on Earth.
