Julie Ali No response is as good as the truth. The NDP folks are failing the children in care and they are cynically using the Panel like the PC folks did before them to divert the attention of the public from failed performance. It's time we got beyond diversions to real meaningful changes in the child welfare system. What are we paying the MLAs to do here? Spin?

I guess creating a Childrens Services Ministry, changing the minister and doing #PanelPolitics hasn't changed the poor performance of the GOA with respect to the child welfare system. Not only do we have this mind boggling case where the children are kept in an unsafe placement where one child has died and two others were taken out of the situation but we also have an unsafe situation at a long term care facility at Lacombe --where nursing students have to provide oversight of the problems. Meanwhile in Grande Cache we have Stephen Tucker's family bringing us allegations of abuse over five years that prompted a banning of the father and removal of the mother. Is this sort of chaos in operations going to be the norm now?
What the heck is going on at the GOA? It's a system wide failure in oversight of vulnerable children in the child welfare system and in Lacombe and Grande Prairie -of long term care residents.
