Lyme Disease Association of Alberta - LDAA shared Jane Philpott's photo. 6 hrs · Seriously chronically ill & neurologically & cognitively debilitated patients of chronic Lyme disease have not been acknowledged nor guided to quality care. These people struggle daily. They get sicker daily. They need help NOW. These people deserve better Jane Philpott. What about them? And continued use of American treatment guidelines that have been unsuccessful at helping Canadians? Unbelievable.

Not only does there seem to be a lack of knowledge about Lyme Disease among the public but the resources dedicated to this illness appears restricted. The federal and provincial governments need to get their act together.

Tamara Hodel-Shears I feel this was put together as a way of saying "We see you and hear you but we haven't got the inclination to deal with this obviously large can of worms... so we'll throw a pittance at the problem and hope it goes away. This should just shut everyone up now"

😐 I'm so angry I could spit... I wish SOMEONE could tell me why we are being swept under the rug?! The light is very brightly being shone on Lyme. I've heard and read more about it this past few months than ever before. Why why why can people not see the light of day!!

I rarely write anything for public consumption, and even more rarely would it be written out of anger... this is anger and frustration talking!!

Never the less.. my points are valid. Our federal government needs to step up, make positive, valid changes to a broken system... ftom the top down. Every province and territory will inevitably be dealing what is turning in to a epidemic of unknown proportions. Our GP'S need better training in this area, as do ER physicians. They need to get on board. The diagnostic and treatment protocols need a severe overhaul. Minister Philpot needs to seriously rethink what she's put forth and how she'd feel if it were her or a loved one in this Lyme boat.

Julie Ali Government will never do anything proactively. They will ask for statistics. Then they will putter around for decades. It is hard to get your message out to media. This is why social media is so important. Don't give up. Keep working on this issue.

Julie Ali Keep informing the public. We are beginning to understand the problem and social media is the way to get this information out.#SocialMediaChangesEverything
