Hike #4 changed to Chester Lake

We got up late. I am now puttering. It's clear we won't be doing the hike we thought we would do for hike #4. The Mount Rundle Summit Trail will be done later in the summer when my knees are better.
We will do this hike:

CHESTER LAKE
The hike to Chester Lake is a great family route in Canmore, complete with a stunning alpine meadow and glistening lake nestled among towering peaks. The walk is perfect for multiple seasons, as a snowshoe or ski tour in winter, or to see the larches change color in autumn. The trail is closed from May to late-June each year to prevent trail damage.

And it's a gorgeous day.
The clouds are white grey curds of cheese on the bowl of sky. I've had three slices of fresh bread toasted to perfection with butter slathered over them. The first cup of coffee is done. The second one is coming up. I have read Jane Hirshfield's poem "ONLY WHEN I AM QUIET AND DO NOT SPEAK" which speaks about shutting up and being.
"Only when I am quiet for a long time
and do not speak
do the objects of my life draw near." --Jane Hirshfield
This is the reason for leaving the life of home for the life of the outside home in the mountains. We will go out in the boil of the sun and sit like hares in the meadow watching the hours peel off the bank wad of time in our hands. We will be still. I will be forced to be silent. We will feel the objects of our lives.
Happy hours. The seduction of silence and just being.
