Dallis Kelly Barry Horeczy do you know who they might contact?

Barry Horeczy The first thing they need to do is contact the police, which I assume they have already done. The largest paper in the area is the Edmonton Journal, which would look into it if a family member contacts them. The Grande Prairie Daily Herald-Tribune is the major paper in Grande Prairie.

Carol Murray Is this govt funded or private. If it's a govt one there is a board you can contact which is usually made up family of residents and locals. Have a recorder in your pocket and also request a copy of her progress notes of any and all documented skin conditions. Your father can should be able to get them no questions asked since he's her POA.....and have that all with you. Obviously courts won't help then try old fashioned freedom of speech and decorate your car with photos and your story and park on a public parking spot close to the home and divert all attention your way. Do not give up! I work in a nursing home in nb.....and seeing this apauls me to no end. Keep standing your ground.

Julie Ali Both the private and public continuing care facilities receive public funding. Only the independent facilities are truly private. Most likely this is a publicly funded care facility. They are supposed to follow the standards of care for continuing care facilities in Alberta. If non-compliances are present we don't get to hear about them because audits are kept secret by the government of Alberta (would not want to harm third party business interests I guess). Only residential reviews are temporarily put up for us. This entire system needs an overhaul and we need accountability and transparency. Why are families being sued for speaking about the care problems? I guess because government wants us to be intimidated and silenced so as to preserve the fiction of good oversight. Who is in charge of the messes? Everyone is in charge and no one is in charge. The Protection for Persons in Care office is under the boots of Alberta Health. It should be an independent office. I got the medical files for my handicapped sister and I found out that AHS and Covenant Health were trying to take over guardianship of my sister when she was stuck at the Grey Nuns Hospital. The politics of cover up are amazing. Going public is the only way to get the problems resolved. Even then be prepared for retribution. The political hires are useless and will leave you to the messes in health care and continuing care.
