Julie Ali The carbon tax is a greenwashing GST that is all about spin in my opinion. I mean how can a carbon tax that is returned to most Albertans have any discernible effect on citizen behaviour other than getting us to rue the day we voted these folks into government? Not only is this a cash grab to pay for other green initiatives that would not otherwise make any economic sense like the wind generation of electricity but we are going to be paying big bucks for electricity once the coal generation of electricity in Alberta ends. The subsidy for electricity can't go on forever. We will have the Wildrose in to reverse all this junk but some of it like the dumb payout to the power companies for an early phase out of coal use that was already in progress ---can't be reversed. The amount of spin generated by this group of hires exceeds all spin sprouted by the previous PC governments and their poor decision making in this area will be a reminder to all of us that not all the promises of political parties such as the 2,000 long term care beds are kept but unknown promises to themselves are kept like this dumb carbon tax business. PS I am not a lackey for Mr. Kenney as I want Mr. Jean to become the next premier, I voted for this poorly performing NDP crew and I think they don't know what they are doing.

To accept the idea of a functional carbon tax that helps end climate change and doesn’t amount to a cash grab, requires one thing that Albertans...

Terence Savage And the author of this peice is nothing more than a lacky for Mr. Kenny and his extremist views. Funny how the Edmonton journal doesn't mention she's from a partisan institution, the Canadian taxpayers federation.
Edmonton Journal Hi Terence, we did indeed include Paige McPherson's position with the Canadian Taxpayers Federation at the bottom of the column. Thanks for reading.
