Failures to address the bloat in the health authorities or even the need for two health authorities undermine the work of AB Health in addressing the wait times. The lack of surgical time for surgeons in the summer simply exacerbates this situation and yet we have to listen to spin by the Health Minister that they are working on the complexities of the system. How many decades does it take the GOA to work on the problems? It's clear to me that the problems of the health care system are due to short term planning by bureaucrats and politicians and what is needed is sustained planning of the sort being provided by the federal government with the directed money towards mental health services. Without such deliberate allocations of cash the GOA will not do the work in critical areas such as mental health services provision nor in the area of wait times which are ridiculously long.
